Once again I am cooped up inside with the rain pattering on the roof. With plenty of work to be done outdoors the list of endless tasks is growing again and as is the grass. Rainy weather tends to keep me indoors, I can brave it for a while but I just don’t like getting cold and wet. This week I received a glossy magazine from Canada – Taste & Travel International Magazine. I worked on a two stories for this issue one about Noosa and the other about Adelaide. You can click on the images to make them bigger if you like to take a closer look.
The farm has been quite this week, no snakes just rain limiting the progress. So today I thought I would share a list of blogs and websites I like to read during the rainy days while I am curled up on the couch under a blanket with a cup of hot green tea. I don’t get to indulge in this leisure activity very often.
In no particular order
Food Bloggers Australia – Access information to improve your blog in Australia.
The Shady Baker - Great photos along with stories about the land, vegetables and inspiring recipes.
The Adventures of Miss Piggy – I love checking in to read about the balcony garden that grows in Sydney
Farmhouse Home - A collection of artsy photos and recipes, along with travel stories
Claire K Creations – This girl sure knows how to tempt me into sweets. Plus Claire is all about finding sustainable food now, I love this!
Milkwood - This blog and website, keep me inspired to reach my dreams of setting up a CSA.
What are your favourite rainy day reads?

Congrats on the articles. I wish I could be curled up reading and listening to the rain. Lucky for us though it’s been sunny and nice. Hope you get out there soon.

Thank you for the generous link Lizzie! Your magazine articles look great. Before last Thursday when we received 20 mm of rain it had been literally months since we had a rainy day. But, since you asked I am currently reading Edible Selby (the book) which is the most incredible source of inspiration I have seen for some time! So many incredible foodie stories my brain goes into overdrive every time I pick it up.
I hope all is good on the farm this week
Jane, I will have to take a look at the book. I love any inspiration. Hope you are well.
You’re an inspiration Lizzie..having articles published in a Canadian magazine..Congratulations!
Enjoy your indoor activities, you’ll be out there soon enough catching up on all the outside work. Thank you for including me in the list of blogs you like, I appreciate it. Catherine xx
Congratulations on those articles!! How wonderful! And, I must admit, totally stoked that you are helping boost SA tourism with your article about the markets! Thanks for sharing those blogs, will save them to read when I too have a bit more spare time! Hope it stops raining soon
How fantastic to have your articles in a magazine, you must be very proud!
A great list of blogs you have there, I love them all too!
So many talented Aussie writers!
Could not agree more Christine. I am always on the prowl for more blogs to read.
congratulations on your articles – it’s a super glossy looking mag!
and thank you for the suggested reading links. i already enjoy jane at shady baker but don’t know the others.
i must admit, i love reading UK homes magazines, and i’m very partial to a vogue or three on a rainy day. proper reading too (not looking at glossy pics) is vanity fair magazine. great airplane reading.
Hi Lizzie,
Great to meet you today, and also now, to have a look at your blog! I love reading blogs. While it has been raining this week, I have been curled up safe, warm and dry indoors reading as well. I usually have two or three books on the go at once (I am too scatterbrained, seriously!) I am reading Down To Earth by Rhonda Hetzel, who also has a blog of the same name. Apart from that, I am reading a novel, and also have been perusing the Wyandotte club of Queensland’s newsletter.
It was great to meet you today too. I hope we can talk more soon about wyandottes. Love sharing the adventure.
I really want to visit Australia soon. One of my friends goes down at least once a year and he’s completely sold me on the idea. Soon, soon!
These articles are fantastic! I wish we would get some rain here!
Well done on the articles Lizzy! You definitely described Noosa perfectly. Royal Copenhagen is my favourite ice-cream place there too. I can’t remember a time when it wasn’t there and I’ve been going to Noosa since I was about 5.
I’m honored to be on your indulgent reads list for wet weather! Thank you!
Hope the weather clears up for you so you can get outside soon.
