Seriously we made it, one year of parenting and we have a little lady on our hands. Honestly when folks say ‘that they grow up so quick’ were not kidding. Today is Isla’s 1st Birthday and I am so proud to have this little one in our company. The endless expressions are never tireless and the smiles are continuous, we have one very special girl on our hands.
With Isla on the move the ability to sit still is limited to when she is asleep, photos have become somewhat hard to take. However yesterday I managed to take a couple so we could celebrate this day.
Over the past six months Isla has taken on crawling and walking like an adventure sport. Eating has now come to be a normal thing in our house instead of squishing it all over her face, high chair, table, floor and more.
The other day I found the perfect gift for our little girl, a 4x gold coloured cup! I know, some of you don’t know this but Isla’s drawn to that colour and can find a 4x gold can in our house before anything else. She associates the colour with her dad I reckon. Finally I had a mummy win and found a drinking vessel for a child to use while sitting with her dad in the arvo having a beer.
It hasn’t been easy this first year with Roy FIFO but that is all going to change and we will be a regular family in the coming months. I am looking forward to that.
I was blessed with an easy birth which produced a very happy and content lady who is independent and knows what she wants. Isla sleeps through the night but still loves an afternoon nap all the same. Love this girl.
She has taught me patience (which I am still practicing), love the small things in life, that she can mirror me at any time – so I have to watch myself. No silly faces added to the Isla repertoire of expressions.
So much love!
Happy Birthday Isla
