That was two years ago, my little bundle of joy 8 days old and so tiny! This Saturday Isla is turning two and words are flowing out of her mouth, she is running around exploring the world like a grown up. Once you have kids time really has a new meaning.
I have found myself reflecting this week, I am sure it is because I only have a couple of weeks left until bub no.2 comes along. We are all ready for the new arrival, second time round is definitely easier and even more so for us as we now have a support team backing us.
The excitement of meeting our next little human is unbearable. I hate waiting. I am spending as much quality time with Isla as I can, even though she is hating that I can’t do all the fun stuff I use to be able to do. She has grown into such a fine person with pretty good manners majority of the time. The tantrums have started a little with the onset of being two but so far they haven’t been too bad, they come and go in waves depending on what she is learning at the time.
Isla is a real people person. A few weeks back she had a couple of outings to the Blues Festival to watch music and hangout with her extended family – Uncle Luke with her below. Dancing, spinning, twirling, reading, cooking, jumping are some of her favourite things.
With only two weeks to go, I am waiting patiently for the first signs of labour. This pregnancy has been a lot easier than the last even though I have slowed right down now to a waddle. My ankles have kept their shape, I have had less heartburn by eliminating bread and sugar from my diet. Mind you the odd chocolate cake doesn’t seem to go down to badly. I am feeling good and looking forward to getting back to my old self again. I just want to lie face first in bed and just be comfortable.
I am sure next time I write a post we will be a family of four. For now, I am nesting, celebrating Isla and her two years of life and my feet are up!

Wow – that went fast – how exciting. And don’t worry about the terrible twos – once you are this side of the threes, you know that they are just to soften you up!
So excited for you and your new life with your hubby in the same town every day sounds like it has all worked out for the best….all the best with your upcoming birth….Regards Kathy A, Brisbane
That time has gone so quickly, I can’t believe you’ve only got to weeks to go before you little arrives. Good luck, I hope the labour is fast and easy, at least as easy as labour can be. Do you know if it’s a boy or a girl, or is it going to be a surprise?
