Down to Kenting Beach

Since I’m only here for just over a week i decided to go on a short trip as far as i could, so that i could see everything in between. Kenting Beach is definitely as far as you can get on mainland from Taipei. By high speed train and bus it only takes about 5-6 hours to get there.

Kenting Beach is definitely an Taiwanese tourist trap. Tour buses filing in and out all day long, but most appearing for the night street market. Nobody seems interested in the beach itself at all, they all come to hang out in town.
I had a nice relaxing time. And i ate some of the best fish Ive ever tasted down there. It was in a place at the far end of the strip with tanks full of fish and crabs out the front. It was fish with soy & sugar. Deep fried to perfection, this was a highlight of my trip so far foodwise.

Besides that i ate some good squid on a stick.
Some terrible pork. It was just cold and soggy. You can see what lured me in though.
And an interesting breakfast sandwich that seems to be quite common everywhere I’ve been. Egg, Ham(?) with Corn and Cucumber(?).
Besides that i spent plenty of time on the beach drinking tallies and relaxing.

Growing veggies, keeping the solar going and listening to music; one might think Roy never leaves his home with his green thumb yet he is an adventurous foodie who loves trying the weird and wonderful cuisines of any culture. An electrical engineer by trade his nerdiness also crosses over into his love for folk music and playing warhammer.
