Savoury Mince Rolls

Serves: 4
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 500gm beef mince
  • ½ cup of frozen veggies
  • 1 tbsp of flour
  • 2 tbsp of tomato paste
  • ¼ tspn chilli powder
  • ½ cup of water
  • Handful of fresh herbs finely chopped – thyme, rosemary, sage, parsley
  • Salt and pepper
  1. In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over a medium heat. Add the onions and cook slowly for five minutes, adding the garlic for a further minute.
  2. Add the mince to the saucepan, stirring until all most browned. Add the frozen veggies, flour, tomato paste, chilli powder, water and herbs. Stir through. Cover with a lid and allow to simmer for 5 minutes on a low temperature.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to your own taste. Serve up on to freshly baked bread rolls with a little tomato relish.
