Roy and I decided that it was time to get the old blog back up and running over the Christmas, New Year break. We had two weeks off and our only plans where to visit my folks for Christmas and visit the beach as much as we could when we were at home.
Most of the days were spent relaxing, spending time with friends and adjusting into chill-out mode. There was plenty of time outside in nature, Roy got stuck into gardening even though there was still no sight of rain on the forecast, I decluttered the house and cleaned ready to step into the new year fresh and focused.
The great thing about owning your own house you can really make it your own. It was the day before new years we knocked out a wall in our house to open it up. The house has a whole new feel to it. Our new open-plan house feels spacious but desperately still needs a coat of paint. That’s my job and I still have not go to it but it’s my plan over the coming weeks to get that done so it feels brighter as well.
2020 for us is about simplicity and how can we apply it to all parts of our life. We are both looking at our diets, work-life balance, stuff we own, we even changed our internet plan.
Plus we are dusting off our backpacks for a few more adventures this year. After our trip to Japan last year with the kids we are ready for travel to be apart of our lives again. It’s been a few years of staying put while raising the kids only going away for short trips.
It’s exciting.
And we are excited to be back writing, both us. Roy is planning on writing gardening posts, updates on our off-grid life – talking about our solar system etc. And I will do the odd recipe, life posts and of course the travel diary.
Thanks so much for staying with us all these years.
Lizzie & Roy
