Palenque and Around

Not too much food to mention this episode. But ill work hard to get back on track next time and eat some food for you. I hope you appreciate what im going through over here for you.

So we caught the bus from San Cristobel to Pelenque. The next day we headed up to have a look at the ruins. Then after that we went on a 2 day tour, of which the highlight was Yaxchitlan.
Pelenque was built up to be pretty amazing. And as the first real ruins i saw in Mexico they werent bad. I do prefer less rebuilt ruins though. That is i like my ruins ruined(or is it ruined ruins). Then next day we went bus then boat to Yaxchitlan. Yaxchitlan was really good. No swarms of tourists and very interesting ruins.
The only food item i can add at the moment is some pizza we ate at El Panchan where we were staying in Palenque. The place was actually a pretty good Italian resturant. I didnt actually have any of this one. But i was told it was good. And it looked it too.

I ate some of what has become my favorite mexican food so far (well up there with corn in a cup). BBQ chicken, or Burnt Chicken as i like to call it. The photos didnt turn out so good though. But i have some good ones for my next entry on Tulum.
Till then.

Growing veggies, keeping the solar going and listening to music; one might think Roy never leaves his home with his green thumb yet he is an adventurous foodie who loves trying the weird and wonderful cuisines of any culture. An electrical engineer by trade his nerdiness also crosses over into his love for folk music and playing warhammer.

Indee this comment is utterly superfluous and possibly is just an excuse for me to use the word “superfluous”, and so go LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! once again. Cheers and good luck and I’ll be in touch from Port Moronsby… – G
